ABOUT US

Sisekelo provides a balanced and varied school curriculum designed to meet the academic, cultural and social needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds, in order to prepare our learners to develop into responsible members of society, capable of facing the future with enthusiasm and confidence.

Sisekelo High School sits on a big bend (from where the town of Big Bend gets its name) of the Lusutfu river as it winds it’s way eastwards through the Lebombo mountains and southern Mozambique into the deep waters of the Indian Ocean beyond.

Our school is located on the site of Eswatini’s first ever sugar mill (built in 1958), which in the late 1980s was relocated to a new site nearby, and an adult education centre for sugar company employees was established on the old site. The need for a top quality high school in close proximity to the sugar company led to the establishment of Sisekelo (meaning the ‘cornerstone’).

For more than 30 years we have been offering a first class education under the auspices of the South African independent examination board (IEB), and our students have matriculated with the National Senior Certificate (NSC) and currently matriculate with a new qualification – the International Senior Certificate (ISC).

We are an inclusive student-centred institution, wherein the welfare, formation and education of each child is our primary focus. We warmly welcome students from any culture, ethnicity and religion, into our Sisekelo family.
